An orphan boy’s unexpected life

Pip, an orphan boy, lives with his sister and her husband Joe, a blacksmith. His life changes when he meets a convict who scares him near the graves of his parents. Pip helps the convict named Magwithc, but he is eventually captured and returned to prison. Pip thinks no more about the meeting.
One day, Pip;s uncle takes him to Satis House to play. There he meets Miss Havisham, who is extremely eccentric. She always wears an old wedding dress and keeps the clocks in her house stopped at the same time.
Pip is introduced to her adopted daughter Estella, who treats him with contempt because he is a common boy. Yet Pip still falls in love with her. He dreams of becoming a gentleman to be worthy of her. Instead he becomes an apprentice to his brother-in-law the blacksmith.
One day a lawyer arrives with the news that Pip has been gifted a large fortune. He is to go to London immediately and learn to be a gentleman. Pip is sure that Miss Havisham is behind his good fortune and hopes he can marry Estella.

Well, tell us about it. It's: roll over in your grave. A grave is the place where someone is buried after they die. To roll over means to move from one side to the other while you're laying down.
Something that would make a dead person roll around after being buried would have to be pretty shocking.
That's exactly how we use it. It's used to show that a situation would shock someone who has already died.
James's grandfather always expected him to take over the family business. If he knew his grandson had decided to become a YouTuber, he would roll over in his grave.
If our grandparents could see the state of the planet now, they would roll over in their graves.
It sounds like this phrase also describes a change like something that previous generations weren't expecting. That's exactly right.
I wonder what things in the future have in store that would make our generation roll over in our graves.
