Willy Wonka owns the world's greatest chocolate factory. But it's a very mysterious place. The factory produces all kinds of chocolate, but no one ever goes in or out! Each day Charlie Bucket walks by it and smells the delicious scent of melting chocolate. Charlie's family is very poor. He lives with his parents and two sets of grandparents in a tiny house. One day Charlie hears a surprising announcement. Willy Wonka has decided to allow five children and their parents to enter his factory and see its delights.
The lucky five will be the ones who find a Golden Ticket hidden under the wrapper of a Wonka candy bar. The first ticket is found by Augustus Gloop and the second by Veruca Salt. The third is found by Violet Beauregarde and the fourth by Mike Teavee. On a cold winter day, Charlie finds a dollar bill in the snow, so he buys two Wonka bars. Under the second bar's wrapper shines the fifth Golden Ticket! And just in time. The next day is the date of the visit to the chocolate factory.
