Fast food restaurants have taken notice. They are starting to offer them on their menus along with more traditional burgers.
Plant-based food markers claim their burgers are healthier. They also say they are better for the planet than beef. One company, Impossible Foods, feels animal production is bad for the environment. Their mission is to end the raising and killing of livestock for food. According to Impossible Foods, the company's Impossible Burger" uses 96 percent less land, 87 percent less water and produces 89 percent fewer greenhouse gas emissions."

The word beef here implies complaints or a disagreement. Since beef is the most important ingredient in some food products, the word is used to describe what bothers people about someone.
You can also use beef as a verb for complain, such as: My mom is beefing about my grades.
